Delibreads, Mercadona’s Supplier Of Mexican Tortillas, Grows 44% In Pandemic

Delibreads, Mercadona’s supplier of Mexican tortillas, grows 44% in the pandemic. Delibreads, a specialist in the manufacture of wheat tortillas and specialty breads, has increased its turnover by 44% in 2020, reaching 27.4 million euros, compared to the 19.1 million sales of the previous year.

According to the company itself, this increase in business is based on increased sales for its main client, Mercadona, of which it is a totaler supplier. The Valencian firm focused its efforts last year on guaranteeing supply and security in the face of the pandemic in its products for the Hacendado brand.

The other great line of growth has been exports, with an increase of 57% compared to the previous year.

To generate this growth, during these twelve months the company has allocated a total of 8.5 million euros to the improvement and expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Lliria (Valencia), with a new line of high production capacity.

Staff premium
As a consequence of the growth experienced, Delibreads has created a total of 15 new direct jobs in 2020, reaching a workforce of 71 workers. In addition, the company decided to reward the great effort and general commitment of all its workers with a distribution of an extraordinary bonus, equivalent, on average, to more than one month’s salary.
