Work on the King George V The Sports Hub in Blacon is near to completion. So it will be the new sports complex at Chester for the community of Chester. The sports hub will be bear all kinds of facilities to entertain the sportsmen and spectators.
Construction on Chester’s modern £1.8 million community sports centre is nearly complete, with the facility set to open in early 2022.
King George V the Sports Hub in Blacon will feature a full-size floodlit artificial grass pitch and a clubhouse providing changing accommodation, kitchen, office and training room.
So, the Cheshire West and Chester Council and Chester FC Community Trust have collaborated on the project and received a grant of £1 million grant from the Premier League, Football Association, and Football Foundation of the Government.
The Duke of Westminster’s Westminster Foundation committed a grant of £520,000 spanning five years and was matched by the council, Avenue Services, and the Ursula Keyes Trust.
Construction Of The Facility Began Over The Summer
Its Construction started over the summer and will be completed by January 2022, with the sports centre opening to the public shortly after that.
It is reported that the Blacon councillors Carol Gahan, Shelia Little, and Trish Richards toured the site and expressed satisfaction with the progress made at such high speed.
“This is a wonderful initiative that will have tremendous benefits for Blacon and the wider community,” said the councillors.
“It has been gratifying to examine how the partners have showed determination in working together to overcome obstacles and deliver this wonderful new facility for the community.”
The sports complex will become the base for the Community Trust’s charity work and provide facilities for training and matches for local clubs, leagues, and organisations.
So this initiative will make the second phase more attractive to existing grass pitches at King George V Playing Fields benefit from a comprehensive modification, including the renovation of the pavilion.
