Italian food and beverage provider Matterello has agreed a 15-year deal with landlord Peel L&P on a 2,454 sq ft unit within Trafford Palazzo, part of TraffordCity.
The announcement of Matterello marks another exciting milestone for Trafford Palazzo as well as confidence in the food & beverage and leisure sectors. Those visiting the luxury Italian restaurant will be able to enjoy authentic cuisine and also immerse themselves in the experience, with on-site pasta making classes and other experiential events.
Mark Whittaker, Executive Director – Property Investment and Management at Peel L&P, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this prestigious F&B offering to our customers at Trafford Palazzo (formerly Barton Square).
Providing quality F&B offerings within Trafford Palazzo has been a priority since our acquisition earlier last year. Trafford Palazzo is a best-in-class retail and leisure destination where people can come and experience shopping and have fun with the variety of leisure and event activities in a truly stunning and safe environment.
“The addition of Matterello will really complement our existing offering and we’re very much looking forward to celebrating their launch.”
Matterello has been developed by Manchester restaurateur Steve Pilling from the Northern Restaurants Group portfolio.
Steve Pilling said: “Trafford Palazzo provides a wonderful backdrop to launch our new concept. Matterello aims to be famous for its contemporary Italian cuisine with traditional values, inspired by the palette of Southern Italy which will also include pasta making courses alongside the F&B offering.
Matterello aims to be an accessible and artisan restaurant with traditional values, preparing all its food freshly on-site.
Dishes on the menu will include Bruschetta with Salsa rossa; Marinated squid; Fettuccine, pesto and gorgonzola; with a wide selection of desserts also available.
Creative Leisure Consultants Ltd and Howard Harrison Ltd are the leasing agents for Trafford Palazzo. David Walker Smith also acts as brand consultant for the centre.
Ross Mackay of Creative Leisure said: “Steve is a great operator and we have been delighted to work with him in launching an exciting new concept that will compliment and enhance the F&B line-up at Trafford Palazzo. The strategy remains to work with best-in-class operators to create an unrivalled customer experience and we have some additional exciting announcements coming soon.”
