Chester-based business launches #CheshireDay giveaway!

It’s the official #CheshireDay on Wednesday 30th March 2022 and a Chester campervan hire business, Calico Campers, has put together a pretty decent special offer to take advantage of. Not only that, but they’ve come up with some wonderful suggestions of when to go on your campervan adventure and most importantly, where to go.

Other local businesses across Cheshire have launched unique #CheshireDay deals in order to raise awareness of the importance of supporting local Chester and Cheshire businesses, especially after the difficulties the Covid-19 pandemic brought.

What is #CheshireDay?

On 30 March 1300, two days after the formal reissue of Magna Carta for what would be the last time, King Edward I confirmed a charter of liberties for Cheshire – effectively giving Cheshire its own Magna Carta.

The team at Visit Chester & Cheshire decided to use this day to mark the historic moment and turn it into an annual celebration of this lovely county.

Last year, the celebrations were understandably all digital. Residents of Cheshire past and present got involved online, and social media came alive with over 30,000 mentions of Cheshire Day with the hashtag #CheshireDay reaching over 14 million people!

With the Covid-19 lockdowns over, this year Cheshire Day was focussed on human interaction. Getting out and about and celebrating all things Cheshire.

This is why Cheshire campervan hire company Calico Campers launched their Cheshire Day Giveaway, a special bookings discount to encourage local tourism.

What is the giveaway?

From now until 8th April 2022, customers who hire a campervan from Calico Campers will get 10% off their entire booking!

The discount is applicable to customers who choose to hire either their 2-berth campervan ‘ARCHIE’ or to customers who choose to hire their family-friendly 4-berth campervan ‘DANI’.

The #CheshireDay 10% discount applies to bookings made for any time of the year, including their peak summer season! So you really could be saving a generous amount of money with this unique #CheshireDay campervan hire discount.

The 10% campervan hire discount code is CHESHIREDAY.

All customers have to do is to check the availability of the Calico Campers campervans to hire, pick your adventure dates and then pick your campervan from the list.

Whatever your decision, to secure your booking you must proceed through to checkout. There you’ll be given the option to add a discount code. Simply enter the word CHESHIREDAY into the box and your 10% discount will be automatically applied to your booking.

You’ll probably have some questions about hiring a campervan, all of the answers to which can be found on the Calico Campers frequently asked questions page.

Where will you go?

In recognition of celebrating all things Cheshire, Calico campers has taken this opportunity to highlight some of the gorgeous places to visit when you hire a campervan in Cheshire.

You might hire a campervan from Cheshire-based Calico Campers and fancy keeping it local. If that’s the case, there’s plenty of places to visit and things to do in and around the Cheshire area.

The historic city of Chester and its Roman Walls are something not to be missed! As is the family-friendly Chester Zoo. For those more adventurous, Delamere Forest is the perfect place to ride your bikes or walk your dogs – did you know that Calico Campers offer dog-friendly campervan hire and their 4-berth campervan comes with a bike-rack as standard?

Delamere Forest is also home to Wild Shore- a family-focussed watersports and aqua park, a giant floating adventure and the perfect way to tire out the kids during the day before heading to a local campsite for the evening.

Once you’ve collected your campervan from Chester, you might want to travel further afield into the likes of Warrington, Runcorn, Crewe, Congleton and Northwich. Wherever you go you’ll be sure to have a great time and the best part is, that you’re supporting #CheshireDay and supporting local Chester and Cheshire businesses.

When will you go?

Don’t forget, the special #CheshireDay discount will expire on Friday 8th April, but your actual adventure holiday with Calico Campers can be booked for any time of the year.

You might have already started to think about how to make the most of the wonderful Spring weather. Spring is a wonderful time of the year to hire a campervan because it comes with a whole heap of benefits. Hiring a campervan in Spring is more budget-friendly because campervan hire costs are lower than in the Summer, as is the cost of campsites. Hiring a campervan in the Spring can cost as little as £60 a night, with some campsites only charging between £10 and £20 per night to stay on them.

Hiring a campervan in Spring isn’t just a good option because of how budget-friendly it is. It’s also a good option because in April and May the weather is wonderfully mild, and some days it can even feel like Summer! The skies are beautifully blue and unless you decide to hit the road during the Easter or Bank Holiday breaks, the roads are quiet and campsites are more peaceful.

If you have a dog, then you’d be mad not to hire a campervan with dog-friendly campervan hire company Calico Campers. Hiring a campervan in Spring is a good idea if you have a dog as they’ll not be as warm during your time on the road.

Perhaps you would rather wait until the Summer holidays, get the kids together, pack the bucket and spade, book a family-friendly campsite near a gorgeous beach and enjoy everything this magnificent country has to offer in July and August. You’ll get the sunshine, you’ll get the quality family time together, you’ll get all pubs, bars and restaurants being open, and you’ll get a lovely, lively atmosphere wherever you go. What’s not to love!

The best campervan hire in Summer destinations include Scotland, Cornall, Devon and Newquay, the Jurassic Coast, the Lake District National Park, South Wales, Yorkshire and Northumbria, to name a few.
