The future’s bright for Manchester Pride as it reveals new creative strategy and website design

LGBTQ+ charity Manchester Pride has worked alongside Code Computerlove to launch a new proposition and website design as it looks to adjust its communications and increase support.

The site redesign was initiated by a free digital strategy workshop delivered by Code, as part of its recently launched Tech For Good initiative. Open to all non-profit organisations who are seeking new ways to improve their digital service areas, the workshops provide organisations with advice and ideas from Code’s team of experts based on challenges they’re looking to solve.

For Manchester Pride, the charity was keen to communicate more clearly exactly how it supports LGBTQ+ people across Greater Manchester. While the organisation is famed for its Manchester Pride Festival which takes place annually at the end of August, it organises events and initiatives year-round.

Code worked with Manchester Pride to develop new comms themes for the year, as well as a new content model and introduced a more professional approach while maintaining the playful brand that has been established over the years and is well-loved by users. The website redesign that followed included a new homepage, along with new charity, events, news and resources pages.

Manchester Pride’s Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, Lizzy Holroyd says: “Code has been a pleasure to work with. The team interpreted the brief perfectly to bring to life a professional website that better communicates the work Manchester Pride does to support LGBTQ+ communities all year round.”

Colin Preston, Code’s Head of Design says: “Manchester Pride came to us for a redesign of their three key pages: Home, Charity and Events with the purpose of aligning the content with their 2022 strategy of placing the charity at the very forefront of their operations. This was so Manchester Pride is known just as much for their charity work as they are for their famous bank holiday festival.

“As a Manchester-based business, it’s been fantastic to partner with a local organisation that does brilliant work to support the region’s LGBTQ+ Communities.”
