National Award Win for Local Clinic

A Cheshire-based nurse has been announced as the winner of a prestigious national aesthetics award.

Amy Bird, who owns KAST Medical Aesthetics in Sandbach, was recently crowned Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner of the Year at the Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2022. Presented to Amy at a glittering ceremony at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge last month, the award recognises Amy’s positive contribution to the aesthetics industry.

Amy said: “The fact that I was even nominated for this award alongside some well-respected and industry-wide recognised nurses, meant that I already felt like a winner. I’d never entered awards before and did not expect for one minute that I would be a contender”.

“To have my work, my story and my career assessed and rewarded was beyond a privilege. The recognition was a true testament to all the hard work myself and my loyal team have put in over the years, especially during and following the pandemic. It is a true honour and a major career highlight that I will treasure”.

The award coincides with the growth and development of Amy’s clinic, which has, most recently, seen it reach its two-year growth target of 65% in just under nine months.

Amy explained: “Following the uncertainty and unprecedented times during the pandemic, we have since had our most successful year. Myself and my team have all worked tirelessly to continue to provide the best possible service and care to our patients, which has helped our business thrive post-Covid. We have also worked closely with The Clinic Coach, a business consultancy for the aesthetic clinic industry, who devised our strategy for success, helping us to achieve our full potential”.

Amy entered the aesthetics industry back in 2014, and established KAST Aesthetics three years later. Since then, it has grown to be a team of 8 people, which provides patients across the North West with expert services including injectables, laser and skincare treatments. Based in the old market town of South Cheshire, KAST Aesthetics is the only medical aesthetic clinic of its kind in the local area.

Despite already providing a whole host of skincare and skin-enhancing services, Amy and her team are hoping to expand the business further to offer a holistic experience for their patients. They’re about to launch an additional array of industry-leading treatments, including anti-sweating clinics, blood services and women’s physio.

Amy, who is the Registered Manager for the CQC-registered clinic, is also a Regional Leader in North West England for the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN). She also shared her business successes and experiences at Aesthetic Medicine Live in May this year to fellow sector specialists.

Amy concluded: “The reason I do what I do is to see the reactions of our patients. We are able to help them change the way in which they see themselves, giving them back confidence and allowing them to hold their head a little higher. It is a real honour to be able to give back that sparkle to someone, and is the sole motivator for me, and my team, to continue growing the business, providing additional treatments and offering the best possible care we can”.

KAST Medical Aesthetics is based in Sandbach, Cheshire. They provide a wide range of non-surgical treatments to the highest level of quality and standard to both men and women.
