The Eyewear Stylist Signs Three-Year Lease at MediaCity

Optical style consultancy The Eyewear Stylist has signed a three-year lease at MediaCity.

The independent business, founded by qualified Dispensing Optician and trained personal stylist Dan Scott, provides expert advice not only on what frames will suit the wearer’s face but enhance their look and style.  Consultations include scientific analysis of the wearer’s face shape, features, skin tone, personal style and usage occasion.

A bespoke range of handmade frames and lenses selected by Scott from his travels to international eyewear trade shows is also available, alongside custom-made glasses made from materials including wood, metal or acetate.  Providing a further USP is a range of bespoke no-reflection lenses that significantly reduce the bounce-back of light.  They’re not widely available on the high street and perfect for those working in front of the camera.

The decision to base the innovative business in MediaCity’s Arrive workspace in White Tower follows a successful first year at the waterfront, creative hub with Scott having established a loyal and growing customer base.

Speaking on the announcement, Scott said:  “I explored a number of city centre and suburban locations as a base for The Eyewear Stylist before the business’s launch in 2021, but none rivalled MediaCity.  The sense of community and support for start-up businesses is incredible and has been invaluable in this first year of business; I’m delighted to sign a three-year lease.”

Rebekah Lloyd Beere, Arrive Operations Manager, added: “Dan’s creative energy and passion for what he does is inspiring and it’s been fantastic to provide a platform for The Eyewear Stylist to build his profile among the Arrive community based here at MediaCity and beyond.”

Scott has already been helping a number of the media, tech and digital destination’s residents and visiting personalities find the perfect eyewear, whilst working with leading media titles and brands to style and complement fashion shoots.

Commenting on the services available at The Eyewear Stylist Scott added:  “As a qualified stylist and Dispensing Optician, I’m pleased to be able to help customers understand what works for them. It’s not an opinion but a science, meaning that you can be confident of stepping away knowing exactly what will enhance your look.  The right glasses can quite literally give you a facelift.”

The Eyewear Stylist is a proud member of MediaCity’s Sustainability and Social Values Network, working with neighbouring businesses including BBC, The Botanist, Co-op, Bupa and dock10 to explore and implement initiatives that make a positive impact.

Rapidly growing his own following as a respected figure in the eyewear industry, Scott will be joining the judging panel of the 2023 UK Eyewear Awards.

The Eyewear Stylist bespoke consultations cost £75pp including face shape and feature analysis, colour analysis, personal profiling and styling.  A wide selection of frames and lenses from the world’s leading independent brands is also available with prices ranging from £150 to £1000.  Optical eyewear and sunglasses are available.
