SEVEN BRO7HERS TAKES A BITE OUT OF THE BIG APPLE AS THEY CELEBRATE THEIR FIRST USA EXPORT

Salford brewery SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO drops its first beers across the pond as it secures its first USA export deal.

Last month, for the first time, the brothers shipped 10,000 litres of its ‘family core range’ – Juicy IPA, Hoppy Pale, Amber Lager, Easy IPA – as well as award-winning Watermelon Wheat Beer all in 440 ml cans to New York.

The export deal, worth £18k will see SEVEN BRO7HERS beers distributed across New York and some surrounding states.

The brothers partnered with importers Iron Horse Beverages, who fell in love with the SEVEN BRO7HERS story. Iron Horse are also a family run business and have been importing beer across the world since 2002.

Director and export manager, Kit McAvoy of SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO, said: “This is such a momentous occasion for our business. This is our first export to the United States, so it feels like a huge milestone.

“We are super proud and humbled to see our beers go over to America. We have exported for more than two years now to the EU and this move now feels like the start of something big.”

But this success story has been a long time coming, with the brewery’s export agent, Paul Marshall, initially reaching out to the USA market at the start of 2021. However due to red tape and complications with Brexit and the pandemic it has taken nearly 18 months to get the deal over the line.

When asked if the Americans are ‘ready’ for SEVEN BRO7HERS, brother number six, Kit, added:

“The US craft beer market is a lot further along than the UK; it has become more common place to see craft on the shelves in supermarkets alongside mainstream brands.

“One main difference I have noticed is America’s ‘grab and go’ culture. Nearly all the craft beers are sold in four or six packs – shoppers spend less time deciding what they want and just pick up their four pack and make a purchase. In the UK we spend more time examining or evaluating before we buy. I think we will eventually catch up with the states and craft will become impulse like the household brands … Ultimately, they are ready for us.”

SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO was founded in 2014 by McAvoy brothers, Guy, Keith, Luke, Daniel, Nathan, Kit, and Greg, inspired by their dad’s home-brewing in their cellar at home.

SEVEN BRO7HERS currently have four beer houses in Manchester: Ancoats, Middlewood Locks, MediaCityUK and Liverpool. It also has an onsite taproom at the brewery in Salford.

Last year saw the grand opening of the brother’s new site at Terminal 2, Manchester Airport which has supported the brand’s visibility overseas.
