Roland Dransfield takes on Mount Kilimanjaro raising funds for The Standing Tall Foundation

Manchester based communications agency, Roland Dransfield, is taking on the largest freestanding mountain in the world, Mt Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania this October raising vitally important funds for The Standing Tall Foundation whilst also marking their 25th anniversary.

The Roland Dransfield team made up of Lisa Morton, Alex Morton, Amelia Camilleri and Shae Grimshaw will be taking on the challenge alongside Standing Tall Foundation founder and armed forces veteran, Andy Reid MBE, who set up the Foundation after he lost three limbs in service in Afghanistan.

Set up in March 2020 by Andy and his friend John Tabern, the Foundation’s work lies within mental health support, homelessness and drug and alcohol addiction and has helped hundreds of people in need since launch.

Roland Dransfield Founder and CEO, Lisa Morton said: “Due to COVID-19 we were not able to celebrate our 25th birthday last year so thought this would be the perfect way to mark this milestone, while also raising vitally important funds for The Standing Tall Foundation.

“Andy is an incredible role model for many people and his story has inspired us through our work with the personal injury team at JMW Solicitors where Andy is an ambassador.  We won’t pretend that we’re not slightly terrified but given Andy’s focus on getting to the top of that mountain we are right behind him!

“The medical team that supported Andy through his life-changing injuries and recovery will be making the journey to the summit with him and we are honoured to be part of this trip.”

Founder of The Standing Tall Foundation, Andy Reid said: “It’s been absolutely amazing to strike up such a strong relationship with the Roland Dransfield team in such a short space of time and to hear their passion about supporting the Foundation.

“I’m absolutely delighted they will be taking on this challenge and will be part of this incredible journey. Working with local businesses who are committed to helping others is something I am very passionate about.”

The team will embark on their Kilimanjaro challenge up the Lemosho route on the 5th October with the trek taking six days to reach the summit and two days to descend.
