Holly Johnson Antiques Introduces Sustainable Luxury Lighting and Furniture Brand

Knutsford-based internationally acclaimed antiques, arts and interiors business Holly Johnson Antiques is showing its support for British craftsmen together with sustainability in design with the introduction of a new range of luxury custom-made lighting and furniture.

The team has expanded its hand-picked selection of home furnishings with eco-friendly UK-based brand Porta Romana, which has grown from a small London workshop to designing iconic pieces for countless homes, galleries, hotels, yachts, and film sets. Working with exceptional artisans from across the British Isles, Porta Romana handmakes bespoke luxury lighting, furniture and mirrors using innovative techniques and materials. All items are made to order and are infinitely customisable, meaning pieces can be matched perfectly to an existing interior design style, as well as making an ideal personalised gift for a special occasion.

The business is firmly committed to minimising its environmental impact, and implements sustainable practices across its production, packaging, materials, energy consumption and more. 80% of its range is made no more than 45 miles from its Farnham head office, and switching to LED lighting has enabled the business to reduce its energy consumption by 75%.

Holly Johnson, Founder of Holly Johnson Antiques commented: “We are thrilled to announce that we are now proud stockists of British brand Porta Romana. Boasting meticulous craftsmanship, each and every piece is handmade and crafted to last a lifetime. Often, we have customers that love a particular piece, but would prefer a different finish, colour or fabric, and we are now able to offer something that is totally bespoke to individual preference and interior design styling.”

Holly continued: “Porta Romana takes sustainability as seriously as its craft, and it is exciting to have an option for customers who are conscious of their environmental impact. We are also pleased to be able to offer customers a refurbishment and part exchange service through the brand’s ‘Upcycling Club’, which enables customers to love their favourite pieces for longer, or part exchange for an entirely new product.”

Founder Holly, trained at Christies, went onto develop her career at Bonhams (then Phillips) and subsequently worked with David Dickinson showing 19th Century Exhibition Furniture at the major London Fairs.
