I am looking forward to working collaboratively with local and GM system leadership to ensure the needs of Rochdale borough residents and communities are met. I am committed to achieving better integration of health and social care services at the place and neighbourhood level by fostering close partnerships with primary care, secondary care, public health, social care providers, and the wider community and voluntary sector.”
Dr Shahid brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having trained in hospital medicine and worked as a medical registrar in the north-west region of England. He holds an MSc in Health & Social Care Management from Oxford and has been serving as a GP Partner in Middleton since 2013. Additionally, Dr Shahid has served as the Clinical Director of Middleton Primary Care network (PCN) and has led initiatives to integrate health and social care pathways through Social Prescribing Link Workers. He is passionate about innovative approaches to address contemporary healthcare challenges, especially related to long-term physical and mental health conditions.
