CONGLETON SITE MANAGER RECEIVES SECOND PRIDE IN THE JOB AWARD

Maurice Lynch, senior site manager at Bellway’s Somerford Gate
development in Congleton, has received his second Pride in the Job award
from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Part of a team of three heading up construction at this superb
development of new homes on Black Firs Lane, 48-year-old Maurice has
once again been recognised as one of the UK’s most exceptional site
managers setting the benchmark for excellence on site.

Along with his colleagues, assistant site manager Gary Brown and trainee
assistant site manager Shaun Miller, the trio impressed the judges with
their exacting standards and commitment to only the highest quality
across all areas of the construction process.

One of the most highly regarded awards in the housebuilding industry,
Pride in the Job has been in existence for more than 40 years and is a
prestigious accolade that site managers strive to achieve.

Judging is a rigorous process that covers all key areas of the
construction process including quality of workmanship, technical
expertise, health and safety, management and leadership and site
managers must score highly in all areas to win.

This is the second time that Maurice has received a Pride in the Job
award; his first was in 2012 at Bellway’s Williamson Place development
in Edge Hill in Liverpool. Hugely experienced with a meticulous approach
and consistent attention to detail, he has worked in construction for
more than two decades starting his career as an agency forklift truck
driver before being taken on permanently by Bellway and working his way
up to senior site manager.

“It is wonderful to receive my second Pride in the Job award,” said
Maurice, “The whole team works so hard to maintain consistently high
standards across all areas of build on site so to be recognised by the
NHBC is a huge professional achievement for us.  It’s also great for

quality.”
