Neurodiversity Takes Centre Stage with Lexxic: An October Tribute and Ongoing Celebration

Lexxic, a leading neurodiversity consultancy committed to empowering neurodiversity in the workplace, is proud to announce a series of engaging and free events and panel discussions throughout October. These events align with significant awareness dates during the month.

Lexxic is delighted to partner with the Business Disability Forum for a special panel discussion that took place on October 4th at 1pm (BST) to commemorate Dyslexia Awareness Week (2nd – 8th October). Under the title “Celebrating the Diversity of Dyslexic Minds,” attendees had the opportunity to hear from panelists representing a diverse range of professions, roles, and backgrounds, sharing their unique strengths and experiences as dyslexic individuals in the workplace. Chaired by Helen Musgrove, Director of Psychological Consulting at Lexxic, and Co-Chaired by Lucy Ruck, Taskforce Manager at Business Disability Forum, the discussion delved into what employers can do to support and empower dyslexic employees.

In observance of Dyspraxia Week (9th – 15th October), Lexxic hosted “Dyspraxia (DCD): Support for Parents & Carers,” a free webinar on October 11th at 12pm. This event focused on parents and carers of dyspraxic individuals, particularly in the context of supporting neurodivergent children. It aligned with Dyspraxia Week’s 2023 theme of “Community and Connectedness – the experiences of dyspraxic people and parents/carers.” During this event, one of Lexxic’s expert business psychologists explored dyspraxia, neurodifferences in children, the challenges they face, available support options including assessments for dyspraxia, and more. A dedicated Q&A session allowed attendees to seek additional insights.

To conclude October and commemorate ADHD Awareness Month, Lexxic organized a second panel discussion in partnership with the Business Disability Forum, titled “Challenging Misconceptions and Embracing ADHD in the Workplace.” On Tuesday, October 24th at 12pm, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Helen Musgrove, Adrian Ward, Head of Business Partnerships at Business Disability Forum (BDF), and five exceptional panellists. The discussion celebrated the unique strengths and talents of individuals with ADHD while addressing and dispelling common misconceptions. The diverse group of panellists, representing various professions, roles, and backgrounds, drew from their lived experiences with ADHD.
