Diaz put Liverpool ahead within just 12 minutes, playing a neat ball out to Joe Gomez before getting on the end of the defender’s cross, nodding into the back of the net.
It was 2-0 shortly after, Diaz nudging the ball to Salah before the Egypt international’s cross was turned home by Gakpo at close range.

Konstantinos Tsimikas nearly added another when he sent a powerful effort crashing off the crossbar, though Liverpool did get a third shortly after the break, Gakpo brought down by the LASK goalkeeper Tobias Lawal before Salah smashed his spot-kick into the bottom corner.
Gakpo struck the post from range as Liverpool went looking for more goals, while substitute Darwin Nunez also went close on a couple of occasions as the Reds looked to put LASK to the sword.
Gakpo would get his second of the game in the dying seconds, though, cutting in and lashing home before confirmation of Toulouse’s draw filtered through moments after full-time to establish Liverpool’s progression as the winners of Group E.
