‘Mr Adventure’ of Instagram: Fostering Positive Change Through the Great Outdoors

Tristan Hamm, better known as “Mr Adventure” on Instagram, has embarked on a mission to harness the power of the great outdoors for promoting positive change. Originating from Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, Tristan initially gained recognition for his philanthropic activities, notably giving away adventure gear worth over $350,000 to his followers to facilitate their outdoor experiences.

With an impressive 2.1 million followers on his popular social media account (@tristanhamm), Tristan is dedicated to spreading a message of hope and community worldwide. He is a passionate proponent of mental health awareness, combining his adventurous pursuits and inclusive outdoor retreats with impactful narratives to create a positive influence.

Tristan, the founder of Revived Outdoors, highlighted in a recent interview, “Adventure is more than adrenaline, camping, or climbing. It’s a snap into the reality of how incredible our planet is, and how insignificant our problems truly are. Getting outdoors is an amazing way to heal.”

Moreover, Tristan aims to inspire his fellow influencers to use their platforms constructively. He shared, “I hope that through my various ways of using my platform to give back, I can inspire a new outlook on influencers and, in turn, motivate more influencers to seek a different approach.”

Aware of the often negative perception of influencers, Tristan encourages a community-oriented approach and positive influence among influencers, rather than a focus on likes or divisive actions.

Leading by example, Tristan has made significant contributions to his community. His philanthropic initiatives include donating over $350,000 in camper trailers and adventure equipment during Christmas. A video documenting this generous act on Instagram received widespread acclaim, amassing 5.9 million views, over 236,000 likes, and more than 12,000 comments, demonstrating a strong sense of community support.

Tristan described the initiative: “This giveaway was part of a larger initiative where tens of thousands of my followers shared their personal stories of struggles. We randomly drew stories shared in the comments and turned them into opportunities to give back, including two families who won completely outfitted camper trailers with taxes completely paid.”

Tristan’s actions underscore the power of social media in uniting people and fostering positive changes. He is a firm believer in the ability of every influencer to create a ripple effect of positive change and is committed to encouraging more influencers to take a meaningful approach in their content creation.

“My efforts are a testament to the power of combining influence with genuine community building and support,” Tristan concluded. “It’s not only about entertainment; it’s about using our influence for good and creating real-world positive change through the process.”
