Chester lawyers shortlisted for prestigious Northern Powerhouse Awards

A pair of highly-regarded lawyers from Cheshire have landed a spot in a national awards ceremony which aims to shine a light on the region’s top legal professionals.

David Harries (pictured) and Paul Caslin from Aaron & Partners, based in Chester, have both been nominated in this year’s Northern Powerhouse Awards.

Organised by The Legal 500, the independent industry-leading rankings system, the Northern Powerhouse Awards recognise the region’s outstanding firms, lawyers, rising stars and in-house teams across 24 categories.

David Harries, partner and head of the Planning, Environment, Energy and Regulatory Law team, has been nominated for the title of Lawyer of the Year in the Projects category.

Paul Caslin, Will, Trusts and Tax senior associate solicitor, who joined the firm in 2018, has also made the shortlist in the Private Client category as a ‘Rising Star of the Year’.

It follows a period of strong growth for the firm, with both lawyers having played a crucial role in driving the firm’s success.

David Harries, who was already recognised by the Legal 500 as a ‘Leading Individual’ said: “It’s a real honour now to be shortlisted for the Northern Powerhouse Projects Lawyer of the Year award.

“As we have grown, our recognition by the Legal 500 independent directory has steadily increased, but to be nominated for these awards, among representation from global law firms, is a testament both to the great teams we have here at Aaron & Partners and all the hard work and effort we put in for our clients. It’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised amongst the best in the region.”

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event in Manchester, the awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 13 at Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Paul Caslin said: “It’s brilliant to see the work the firm is doing recognised as being amongst the highest calibre in the sector.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating everything the Northern Powerhouse brings to the legal industry.”
