Former law campus in Christleton makes way for luxury homes

A luxurious show home is set to open on a former law campus near Chester.

Castle Green Homes is among the partners redeveloping the former University of Law Chester Campus in Christleton.

The land became vacant when the university moved to the Queens Park Campus.

For its part Castle Green is building 24 homes on the northern part of the 2.7 hectare site, close to the sports pitches.

Planning was approved in April 2022 and work to prepare the land for new homes began in summer 2023.

The homebuilder is now preparing to welcome discerning buyers into a professionally styled and fully furnished show home at the prestigious development, known as College Park. (CGI pictured)

It will be available from January 13, when the first five properties will also be released for sale.

Progressing well

Sian Pitt, sales director at Castle Green said: “It’s important that we acknowledge the area’s history while giving the land a new lease of life. With that in mind, we’ve taken inspiration from the academic use of the site of our new homes in Christleton and named the development College Park. Local people have shown a strong interest in the future of the site and we’ve been receiving enquiries about the homes since our involvement with the redevelopment of the former university site was announced.

“Work on site is progressing well and we’re looking forward to being able to showcase the luxury level of living the exclusive choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes from our Signature Collection will offer with the opening of the show home. We also offer the ability to take a virtual tour of the development and the individual homes before they’re built via the website.”

The show home is an example of the Townsend house type. A substantial, double fronted, detached five-bedroom home, it offers an impressive 2,908 sq. ft of thoughtfully planned living space.

Designed to address the demands of modern living, there’s a lounge at the front of the property, perfect for quieter moments, with a dedicated dining room, ideal for formal entertaining. Recognising that many people now work from home for at least part of the week, there’s a study. A cloakroom completes the ground floor.
