Everton’s appeal against their 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules will reportedly be heard over the next three days.
The Toffees were deducted 10 points in mid-November after an independent commission found them guilty of breaching the rules during a four-year period ending at the culmination of the 2021-22 season.
A maximum loss of £105million is permitted across each assessment period, and the commission found Everton to have exceeded that sum by £19.5m.

Having been plunged into yet another relegation battle by their deduction, Everton said they were “shocked and disappointed” by the scale of the penalty and immediately pledged to appeal against it.
On Tuesday, Sky Sports reported that the club’s appeal hearing will begin on Wednesday and end on Friday, with a final decision expected to be made public in mid-February.

Everton currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, one point clear of 18th-placed Luton Town having played an additional game. Without their 10-point deduction, they would be 12th, two points behind 10th-placed Newcastle United.
Earlier this month, Everton were also charged with a second breach of the same rules, this time for the four-year period leading up to the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Nottingham Forest were also charged with breaching the rules, and decisions on both clubs’ cases should be made public in April, though the outcome of any appeals may not be known until after the season is concluded.
