Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes remains confident coach Xabi Alonso will spurn the advances of Liverpool and Bayern Munich and stay at the club next season.
Alonso has become the hottest property in Europe having guided Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga and an eight-point lead over 11-time defending champions Bayern.

Both Liverpool and Bayern are on the look-out for a new coach next season with Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel already committed to leaving their posts.
It has been reported the two clubs have made contact with Alonso in a bid to lure him away from the BayArena but Rolfes is unpreturbed.
Speaking to the Frankfurter Rundschau, he said: “I remain calm and optimistic. The most important thing for managers is that they feel comfortable and have the feeling that they are in the right place.
“Xabi knows what he has at the club. He has said that many times. This is how he works with his team and his coaching team every day.”
Leverkusen are still the only club in Europe’s top five leagues not to have lost a game this season. Their unbeaten record stands at 33 games ahead of this weekend’s trip to Cologne.
In addition to leading the Bundesliga, they are in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal and the Europa League round of 16, where they face Qarabag.
