Liverpool: Salah back in training ahead of weekend showdown with Manchester City

Liverpool may finally have some good news on the fitness front with Mohamed Salah pictured in training just four days before the Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad has been riddled with injuries over recent weeks with key figures such as Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson unavailable.

That has allowed the club’s young talent to showcase their abilities but Klopp will be eager to have some senior players back for the weekend showdown.

Salah was seen joining his colleagues in training this morning before they fly out to the Czech Republic for tomorrow night’s first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash with Sparta Prague and was later included in the squad.

Table-topping Liverpool head into Sunday’s blockbuster a point ahead of last season’s treble winners with Arsenal in third, two points behind the leaders.

Having Salah available would be a huge boost for the Merseysiders. Their leading scorer – he has 19 in all competitions this season – has been absent since coming off during the 4-1 win at Brentford on February 17.

That game was his first appearance after suffering a hamstring injury at the African Cup of Nations.
