Walker Sime Welcomes Gareth Robertson as New UK Director of Quantity Surveying

Walker Sime, a consultancy specialising in construction, has officially announced Gareth Robertson as their new UK Director of Quantity Surveying. Robertson joins from CBRE, where he successfully led the Cost Management team as Senior Director and Head of Cost Management in the North of England for four years.

During his tenure at CBRE, Robertson had the opportunity to work with Walker Sime on numerous projects, during which he grew to admire the consultancy’s strong reputation, effective track record, and strategic approach. He noted that a key factor in his decision to join was the alignment between Walker Sime’s objectives and his own values.

Duncan Firth, Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm about Robertson’s joining, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Gareth and his appointment marks another pivotal moment in our growth. With his wealth of experience, growth mindset and alignment with our values and culture, we are confident his leadership, personality, and skills will increase the rate of our growth.”

Robertson is set to enhance the already robust offerings of Walker Sime’s Quantity Surveying department. He affirmed, “I will be picking up the baton with the already strong QS team, continuing the great work already being done and collectively moving the service line forward. I will be rolling up my sleeves immediately and leading our team on several high-profile instructions.”

Further solidifying his role, Robertson has joined the reformulated Executive Leadership Team at Walker Sime.

With his base in Manchester, Robertson will extend his influence to the firm’s Liverpool and Leeds offices. Walker Sime has contributed to various high-profile projects including Manchester New Victoria, the Civic Heat Network in Manchester, Dock Branch Park in Birkenhead, EUREKA! and Liverpool Waters.
