Police are appealing for help to find missing Latchford man

Police are appealing for the public’s help to find a man missing from Latchford.

Matheu Hopwood (34) was last seen on Thursday, May 9, on Helsby Street, Warrington.

He was reported missing on Friday, May 17.

Since his disappearance, it is believed that Hopwood may have travelled to Brighouse in West Yorkshire.

He is described as white, around 6′ tall, of proportionate build, with short curly brown hair, and blue eyes. Matheu is known to frequent the Latchford area of Warrington.

Officers are urging anyone who sees Matheu or has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

Detective chief inspector Kersten Southcott said: “We have been conducting a number of enquiries to trace Matheu and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen Matheu since he was last spotted to get in touch with us. The same goes for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, or CCTV or dashcam footage of him.

“I would also like to appeal directly to Matheu; please let us know you are okay.”

Anyone with information or footage that may help officers find Matheu is urged to contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101, or visit cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML-1825500.

Anyone who sees Matheu is asked not to approach him, but call 101.
