The Paralympics 2024 will be the first time the Games have ever taken place in France and feature more than 4,400 athletes from around the world.
A record 168 delegations will be represented when the opening ceremony is held on Wednesday.
“We have incredible venues close to iconic settings,” says International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons. “The atmosphere has been fantastic. I think these Games are going to be the most spectacular Games ever.”

When is the Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony?
More than 50,000 fans are expected to watch the opening ceremony, which starts at 7pm BST on August 28.
The Refugee Paralympic Team (RPT) will be the first team to march at the Place de la Concorde, led by flagbearer Guillaume Junior Atangana.
The RPT will feature athletes from Para athletics, Para powerlifting, Para table tennis, Para taekwondo, Para triathlon and wheelchair fencing.
Sprinter Nantenin Keita and Para triathlete Alexis Hanquinquant will carry the flags for the hosts, who will be the last delegation in the Parade of Nations.

The Opening Ceremony marks the beginning of 11 days of competition featuring 549 medal events across 22 Para sports.

Channel 4 will broadcast more than 1,300 hours of live sport from the Paralympics for free in the UK.

How to stream Paralympics 2024 in the UK
Channel 4’s website and app will stream the action alongside the broadcaster’s dedicated sport YouTube channel.
The BBC Sport website and the BBC iPlayer and its accompanying app will also provide coverage of the Games.
When is the Paralympics 2024 closing ceremony?
The closing ceremony will take place at 7pm on September 8 at the Stade de France, allowing Paris to hand over the baton to Los Angeles, the host city of the 2028 Games, in fitting style.
Organisers say artistic director Thomas Jolly will “showcase his innovation” and present his “unique visual flair” to the world with the finale, bringing down the curtain on the Paralympics 2024.
