Warrington-based Kids Basketball Club Launches Sponsorship Drive for 2025 to Boost Youth Development

Grappenhall Basketball Club, based in South Warrington, has launched an appeal for local businesses to sponsor its youth basketball teams for the 2025 season. The club, which was founded in 2023 to give children often overlooked by other teams a chance to play, is calling on community-minded companies to support its mission to provide more opportunities for young players to develop their skills, grow in confidence, and be part of a team.

Since its inception by founders Josh McGann and Tom Berry, with support from other dedicated volunteers, the club has grown from a single Year 3&4 team into a community-driven initiative that now serves a growing number of young players. The club’s ethos centres on inclusion and opportunity, ensuring no child is left on the sidelines.

“We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings last year,” said Josh McGann, founder of Grappenhall Basketball Club. “This club was built to give kids who didn’t have a team a place to play and belong. As we look to 2025, the support of sponsors will be essential in helping us offer more opportunities, better equipment, and increased access to tournaments.”

Opportunities for Cheshire-based Businesses

Sponsoring Grappenhall Basketball Club offers businesses a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people while enhancing their own brand visibility. Sponsorship funds are used to provide essential equipment, team kits, and access to tournaments, giving players the tools they need to succeed.

Sponsors will benefit from:

  • Logo placement on team uniforms and promotional materials
  • Mentions in club communications and social media
  • Positive brand association as a champion of youth development and inclusivity

A Big Thank You to 2024 Sponsors

The club extended its gratitude to its 2024 sponsors, Birchwood-based Kloud9 (www.kloud9.co.uk) and local business Autoquest. Their support has been instrumental in helping Grappenhall Basketball Club offer new opportunities for young players. Notably, Kloud9 will continue its support in 2025 as the sponsor for the Year 7&8 team ‘Grappenhall Cobalt’.
