New From Razer Makes You A ‘Streamer’ Without Spending Too Much

Razer has presented two new products that, with a lower cost than usual, aim to help us mount ‘streams’ on our own.

Of course, one of the first things a streamer needs is a camera to be able to show his face and reactions to the audience; But most laptops embedded in laptops do not reach the necessary quality.

Razer today presents two options. The first is a cheaper version of his Kiyo webcam, which he has called Kiyo X and which will cost 89.99 euros, compared to 109.99 euros for the normal version. Despite the price difference, the Kiyo X can record video at the same quality, having the same sensor.

Therefore, we can choose between 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, for a sharper image if we are going to put the video in full screen, or by 720p resolution and 60 frames per second, to get a more fluid video, which it may be better if we are going to put the video in a corner while playing a video game.

The Kiyo X has automatic or manual focus, and we can modify the image to our liking from the Synapse program, adjusting the brightness, contrast, or selecting a predefined setting.

Aesthetically, the Kiyo X is identical to the Kiyo, except for one detail: the halo of light has disappeared. This camera does not have built-in lighting, but Razer promises something different: a “virtual ring of light”, which uses the monitor as a light source.

The Kiyo X is available in the Razer store for 89.99 euros.

The second option launched today by Razer is the Ripsaw X, a USB video capture device that we can connect directly to our camera to use in our broadcast. Many people already have photo or video cameras, and this adapter is compatible with all of them, as long as they have an HDMI output; therefore, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, or GoPro models are supported.

Just by connecting the camera we can use it to broadcast live, or store the recording on our hard drive; The Ripsaw X is compatible with various streaming programs, such as OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) and Streamlabs, to which it can provide video up to 4K and 30 frames per second.

The Razer Ripsaw X is available for 139.99 euros in the Razer store .
