A local home care company is preparing for a rise in demand for its services, which in turn has led to new employment opportunities for people in the area who want to start or further their career in care.
Each year, Home Instead East Cheshire expects to see a seasonal uplift in client enquiries. When families get together for festive gatherings, they may notice changes in their family’s health and wellbeing, particularly if they’ve been unable to visit their loved ones due to the recent restrictions. That leads to families having to consider care options, before making enquiries in the new year.
Rajan Panesar, owner of Home Instead East Cheshire, says: “Many of us will be spending more time with our loved ones over the festive season. But whilst we’re celebrating and opening presents, we might notice subtle changes, whether it’s Mum becoming more forgetful or Dad not seeming as mobile. Often, there’s only so much that family members can do, and that’s where professional care comes in.”
Commenting on the role of a caregiver, Rajan says: “A kind heart and a desire to make a difference are the most important attributes we look for in a caregiver. You don’t necessarily need previous experience. When our caregivers come onboard, they undergo a quality recruitment assessment that makes them ready to support our clients in the local area and help them live well at home. What they do changes people’s lives, and we’d love more people to join the team and take up this rewarding role.”
Home Instead East Cheshire has been open since 2006 helping their clients in the community to live well at home. The company provides tailored support, typically comprising of companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, personal care, medication reminders and shopping.
