The Sensation Group Races into 2022 with the Launch of a New North-West Event & Office

Leading events company Sensation Group has launched a new event, the Watersons HALE 10K, as it expands into the North-West.

Founded in 2000 in Abersoch, Wales, Sensation Group is renowned for delivering running, triathlon, wakeboard and multi-action sports events at a national and worldwide level, including endurance event THE ROC and Abersoch Triple Crown race series.  It is also the organisation responsible for founding the Wakestock and Glass Butter Beach festivals.

The Watersons HALE 10K is the business’s first event in the North-West and coincides with the opening of a second office in Altrincham.

Taking place on Sunday February 20th, the inaugural event will see 1,000 running enthusiasts and individuals looking for a new fitness challenge gather in the centre of the picturesque village to enjoy a 10K ‘closed road’ run. The route will take participants through Hale, along scenic country lanes and out to Ashley Hall where the race will end.

A 3K run, staged in the grounds of the magnificent country house, will cater for younger runners or those simply looking to enjoy a shorter distance.

Speaking on the Watersons HALE 10K, Founder and Managing Director of Sensation Group, Mark Durston said: “Having lived in Hale for seven years now, I’ve been looking for the right time and opportunity to launch an event locally in this great village.  As a keen runner I have firsthand knowledge of the area and I am confident that we’ve created the perfect 10K route.

“Starting on one of Hale’s most prestigious roads, crossing the iconic railway tracks and running through the heart of Hale village gives the race a memorable start, with the impressive Ashley Hall, providing the perfect grounds in which to finish for an annual event such as this.

“The North-West is home to some of the world’s best sports teams and events.  With the Watersons HALE 10K we’re looking forward to bringing something new to the sports calendar with an inclusive, family friendly and yet challenging event.”

Peter Waterson, Owner and Managing Director of Watersons independent estate agents, headline sponsor of the HALE 10K, said: “I am really proud that Watersons has served the people of Hale, Altrincham and the surrounding areas for over 20 years.  Having lived in the village all my life and as a regular Altrincham & District Athletic Club runner I have wanted to be able to do something for my community and as such the HALE 10K is right up my street.  We didn’t hesitate to get involved and are delighted to be headline sponsor of the inaugural event.”

Proceeds from the event will go to The Toy Appeal, a fantastic charity that provides a sack of toys to thousands of children living in poverty at Christmas.  Entrants looking to get further behind the organisation are encouraged to make a small donation when registering.

Entries for the Watersons HALE 10K are open now.  Entry rates cost from £23pp for the 10K race and £10pp for the 3K race.  To secure your place or find out more information visit www.hale10k.com.
