Swim School Launches Apprenticeship Scheme To Deal With Surge in Demand for Lessons

Baby and child swim school, Puddle Ducks Mid-Cheshire has seen huge demand for their lessons, after children have missed out on nearly eighteen months in the pool due to the pandemic.

Puddle Ducks are looking to increase their teacher numbers by 25%, with new teaching positions and a new, exciting opening for a Level 2 apprentice to join their team. Working alongside Movement to Learn, the apprenticeship offers an opportunity for a young person to kick-start a career in the water, sharing their passion for swimming with generations of children.

Rachel Bateson, Franchise Manager at Puddle Ducks Mid-Cheshire comments: “After many months out of the pool, our little swimmers are jumping back in eagerly and we are looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to become swimming teachers, or swimming teachers looking for a more rewarding role to join our team.

“The pandemic has caused a huge increase in numbers of children learning to swim- as pools were shut throughout the lockdown periods. The STA reports that nearly 1 million children could leave primary school in the next five years unable to swim due to COVID-19 disruptions. We are expanding our team to meet demand.

“We are also delighted to announce our first-ever apprenticeship opening. Our Level 2 apprenticeship is a unique opportunity for someone looking to enter the workplace in a dynamic, active and rewarding role. Your role will be varied; you’ll enjoy a range of responsibilities, whilst teaching children and babies to love the water!”

Rachel continues: “There is nothing that compares to seeing the look of joy on a child’s face as they learn new skills and develop a love for the water! If you are someone with existing teaching experience and want a more rewarding role, or a young person looking for a fun, active apprenticeship opportunity- get in touch!”

Puddle Ducks is happy to offer fully paid training periods and regular, guaranteed hours as well as a number of progression opportunities.
