Carden Park Estate has announced that they will be the base of Swedish National’s Women’s Team during this year’s European Football Championship.
Situated within the picturesque Cheshire Countryside, the football team will have their own exclusive wing in the hotel (a quarter of the building) for almost three weeks during summer. The team were looking for a luxury sporting retreat with everything they need on site and that’s why they chose Carden Park. With its very own UEFA approved football pitch of the highest quality (where many international and UK teams have played) the team will train right on the Carden Park grounds.
On their decision to stay at Carden Park Estate, head of delegation and national manager Marika Domanski Lyfors says: “We have a really good feeling about our base camp of Carden Park Estate. We’re thrilled to have our own part of the hotel where the team can relax privately between games and it’s great that we can have some of our training sessions right on the grounds – these have both been important factors of our selection phase. We can’t wait to work together with Carden Park to create the best conditions for our team towards a hopeful victory this summer!”
Favourites to win this year, the team will be working hard throughout their stay. So, in between games and training sessions, players will be able to recharge in the spa (which is one of the best in Europe) with exclusive spa treatments, a friendly team-mate round of golf on the PGA-certified course or enjoy delicious healthy dishes at one the estate’s restaurants. Carden Park looks forward to supporting the team in playing their best by making them feel at home, helping them to live well during their time in the UK and ensuring they have everything they need to rest up between games.
Speaking on the team’s stay, director and General manager of Carden Park Hotel, Hamish Ferguson says “we are absolutely delighted to be welcoming one of the best teams in European Ladies Football to Carden Park I am sure they will enjoy our world class facilities and we wish them well in the tournament”
In the tournament, Sweden will be in the same group as the Netherlands, Russia and Switzerland and will play their matches in both Sheffield and Leigh. The European Football Championship commences on 6th July 2022.
