PERSIMMON’S GIANT CHEQUE FOR THE JOSHUA TREE

Persimmon North West sales and marketing director Dave Hodgson has presented Northwich children’s charity The Joshua Tree with a giant cheque for £4,500.

The funds were raised at a charity golf day organised by Persimmon and held at Wychwood Park Golf Club in Crewe.

The Joshua Tree was established in 2006 by Lynda and David Hill who, as parents of a child with Leukaemia, fully appreciate the benefits of additional family support away from hospital. It works to support and improve the emotional well-being and mental health of all family members affected by childhood cancer.

In addition, the North West region directed a further £7,000 to The Joshua Tree, after senior sales manager Nina Whalley and Dave were placed 1st and 3rd respectively in the LDS Sales Guarantees Not-So-Secret-Santa £10,000 Charity Giveaway.

Entrants were invited to guess the value of LDS Sales Guarantees generated in 2021 and win prize money for their nominated charity.

Nina was placed first, winning £5,000 for The Joshua Tree, while Dave came 3rd, securing an additional £2,000 for The Joshua Tree.

Dave said: “What a fantastic result for our chosen charity The Joshua Tree – £7,000 will go a long way to helping this incredible children’s charity.”

In May this year, after 14 years of fundraising, The Joshua Tree opened its fantastic purpose-built Support Centre, featuring a multi-functional activity room, counselling suites, soft play and sensory equipment, a games room, office facilities, an outdoor play area and landscaped gardens.

Fundraising is ongoing, helping to pay for the wide range of services available at the centre, including family and 1:1 counselling, therapy and support sessions.
