NEW CHESHIRE ENTERPRISE SECURES COUNCIL SOCIAL VALUE PARTNERSHIP

The Donatable social enterprise has become a key social value partner for the Nantwich and Rural Care Community at Cheshire East Council.  The Cheshire social enterprise was  launched just 120 days ago has beaten all its targets to recruit local businesses and support local community initiatives.

Co-founder Gareth Williams comments: “Donatable was launched late last year to help businesses engage with their local communities and leave a lasting positive impact. We knew that Donatable was something incredibly worthwhile but the response from the local business community has been overwhelming.

“It’s clear to see that by becoming a partner with the Nantwich and Rural Care Community we can support the need for reconnecting businesses with their local communities which has been especially challenging during the past two years.  We couldn’t have launched at a better time.”

The 35 founding members of Donatable comprise a mix of local businesses from across the Cheshire East region.  One of the founder members is Jamie Parker from Red Rag Marketing in Crewe. He comments: “As a small business owner I have so many day-to-day tasks to juggle.  Donatable offers me a simple yet incredibly rewarding way to support my local community using my business skills and knowledge – without a huge investment in either time or membership.  It’s good to know that a percentage of my membership fee will also support a worthwhile local cause.”

Set up with the needs of local businesses in mind, Donatable seeks to offer a packaged programme of promotional marketing support services whilst at the same time reinvesting its profits back in those local communities its business members serve.

Owner of Crewe based Ensure Training and Safety, Annette Dean is also a founding member of Donatable.  She comments: “It’s really important for me to give back to my local community and I’m delighted to see Donatable creating partnerships that will benefit Cheshire East communities.”

Senior Community Development Officer, Katy Ellison from Cheshire East Council comments:  “Donatable’s ethos mirrors very much our own of serving the local community and delivering true social value.  We’ll be working with their members to seek out mutually beneficial voluntary support opportunities to support those causes in need across our region.”
