Abbey College Manchester Announces GCSE Results Success

Abbey College Manchester is celebrating the outstanding GCSE results secured by its students today (25 August).

The leading independent college is delighted to announce significant increases on results obtained in 2019 when students last sat invigilated exams and last year’s teacher-assessed grades. An impressive 25% of GCSE exams taken have been graded at the highest level of 9, an uplift of 16% from 2019 and 11% from 2021, and 31% graded 9-8, up 10% from 2019.

Furthermore, 79% of results were graded 9-5/4, 50% 9-6 and 40% 9-7.

One talented student who particularly excelled was Salford resident Ho Yi, who secured an exceptional set of grade 9s across the board. Another two high-achieving students, Samantha and Eunice, attained an admirable set of grade 9s and 8s.

Principal Chris Randell commented on the GCSE results and said, “Our students have secured a fantastic set of results and we are very proud of them for their achievements. The determination and commitment from both our hard-working students and dedicated teaching staff is evident in these results, and we are pleased that they can now reap the rewards of their efforts.

“At Abbey College Manchester we place a strong emphasis on developing our students as effective learners and ensuring that they are equipped for any challenges that their further studies may present. We are confident that they will continue to excel in their endeavours, and look forward to seeing and hearing of their further success stories.”

There are 220 students at the college, comprising a mix of students from the local area and other countries. The college offers A-Level, GCSE, Combined Studies and International Foundation Programmes.
