Carden Park Estate Unveils Autumn Exhibition at Sculpture Garden with Outstanding NEW Sculptures

Cheshire’s Carden Park Estate is delighted to announce its brand new and exciting Autumn Sculpture Garden Exhibition from October 2022. Curated and represented by BBC’s Antiques Roadshow Specialist, Grant Ford, the Sculpture Garden is set against the stunning backdrop of Cheshire’s 1000-acre luxury resort. As a leading destination for art and beautiful design, visitors are welcomed to view the works by leading sculptors and artists at both the Sculpture Garden and inside Carden Park Hotel. Each exclusive piece is available to buy through Grantfordltd.com, with prices starting from £1,000 to £350,000 (exc. VAT).

The new exhibition adds six new artists to the Sculpture Garden’s offerings including Pat Bull, Ian Marlow, Halima Cassell, Masoud Akhavanjam, Stephanie Cushing and Matt Duke. Additionally, three mesmerizing kinetic works by David Watkinson can be viewed and enjoyed. Inside the hotel, guests will also find stunning framed photography by Riccardo Tosi, new paintings by Sam Wray-Easton and an exciting group of recently finished paintings by Sheridan Ward.

On the new exhibition, Grant Ford explains; “As we transition into autumn, people are generally moving at a slower pace, and these new exhibits perfectly reflect that energy. For example, taking centre stage is “Hurricane” by Halima Cassell.  In her work, Cassell celebrates life, and connects people together, emphasising their similarities rather than their differences. Through the power of pattern and suggestive quality, she attempts to transport people to different places and cultures, by bonding them through memories and anchoring them in shared consciousness. The texture and surface of Cassell’s work is as important as the structure itself, with the beautiful, smooth carving inviting touch.”

Grant continues: Furthermore, David Watkinson’s calming and philosophically pleasing kinetic works add movement to the still landscape beyond. The precise engineering skills of these beautiful works entice the viewer to hypnotically stare as they perform. A strong selection of works by Masoud Akhavanjam capture the eye throughout the garden, including Dancer, which has a clear calm magnetism with sleek lines and statuesque proportions. Meanwhile Matt Duke’s new exhibit “The Great Escape”, perfectly represent the flushing of a pheasant, with his usual clever patination’s, energy, and form.

These are some of my favourite exhibits yet and I can’t wait for people to pop along and see them for themselves! My colleagues and I are always available for a personal walk and talk – we take much delight in bringing these incredible exhibits alive by discussing them face to face! Every day is a new day at The Sculpture Garden with sold works leaving and new exhibits arriving.”

The Sculpture Garden adds a beautiful element to Carden Park Estate’s ambitious growth strategy, positioning Carden Park Hotel as the leading resort destination in the North of England. Carden Park’s private owners have continued to invest and develop the hotel, grounds and Spa at Carden Park; utilising millions of pounds of investment to find new ways to delight and entertain their guests.

First opened in September 2021, entry to the Sculpture Garden is free and is suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Inviting both residents and visitors alike to appreciate an artistic cultural experience, each visit will offer a whole new perspective, with the exhibits changing throughout the seasons. For those visiting in half term, the estate has just revealed their Artwork Adventure Trail, in which guests will be given a crossword puzzle to solve with clues about the Sculpture Garden artwork. There’s even a chance to win a £200 gift card!

After a stroll around the Sculpture Garden, guests can continue their visit to Carden Park by enjoying a luxurious afternoon tea, planning an adventure filled trip to the Vertigo aerial course, play a round of golf on one of the two championship golf courses, or indulge in a Spa Day at the multi-award winning Spa at Carden Park.
