Why you Should Switch to an Electric Vehicle

You will notice that electric cars are a lot more common on the roads these days as more and more motorists make the change. The age of electric is here with petrol and diesel vehicles gradually being phased out with the 2030 ban on the sale of these vehicles as well as manufacturers focusing purely on EVs moving forward. So, why should people be making the switch to electric? Read on to find out why.

Zero Emissions

The primary reason to make the switch is that electric cars produce zero emissions. Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles produce CO2 and many other harmful emissions, which are damaging the environment and also affecting public health through air pollution. By switching to electric, you are doing your part to protect the environment at a time when everyone needs to take action in their lives.

Electricity is Cheaper Than Fuel

Another primary reason to switch is that you can make significant long-term savings by switching to an electric car. Electricity is cheaper than fuel, which means that are not spending a huge amount to keep the vehicle running. While the initial cost of an electric car can be high (although these will come down and become level with regular cars in the years to come), you will find that the long-term savings ensure that they are a smart financial investment. Is gap insurance worth it? This a good question and the answer is yes with electric cars because they are high value, which means that you could be left short by a considerable amount if the vehicle is written off.

Silent & Comfortable

One benefit which people often do not realise until they drive an electric car is just how comfortable the experience is. Electric motors make hardly any noise, which means that you can benefit from a peaceful experience inside an electric car without vibrations for a smooth and comfortable ride.

Instant Torque

Performance is another benefit of switching to an electric because you can benefit from instant torque with an electric motor. ICE vehicles have a response time and only deliver maximum torque at a particular speed range, so you can enjoy a powerful and satisfying driving performance by switching to an electric.

Efficient

Electric vehicles are also highly efficient with the energy that they use. Electric motors achieve efficiency of around 90% whereas ICE vehicles achieve efficiency of only around 40%, which means that you are wasting money with these vehicles and creating more harmful emissions.

As you can see, there are many good reasons to switch to an electric car and it is easy to see why so many people are doing this right now. Now is the time to join the age of electric and this will help you to save money over the long term while also reducing your impact.
