Cheshire Business, Centre of Excellence, Recognised in National Growing Business Awards

Global eLearning business Centre of Excellence has been recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in the UK, according to the Growing Business Awards.

The national awards event, which this year celebrated its 25th anniversary, honours the UK’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses and represents a wide spectrum of sectors.

The Cheshire-headquartered business was delighted to be awarded Online Business of the Year, beating off stiff competition to the coveted title.  The business was recognised for its outstanding strength, vision and sustained growth.

The news is the latest in a series of successes for the e-commerce business, which earlier this year reported a 40% increase in customers worldwide and a 200% increase in turnover YOY (2021/22), up from almost £4m to £12m.

Speaking on the business’s success, Founder and CEO of Centre of Excellence Sara Jones said: “The standard of entries for this year’s Growing Business Awards was incredibly high and so to be recognised is fantastic.

“Our mission is to positively impact 1billion people’s lives with our online courses.  We’ve only just scratched the surface of what’s possible with eLearning and are excited for what the future holds.  We couldn’t be more grateful to all our eLearners who support and inspire us daily.”

Centre of Excellence has gone from strength-to-strength over the last ten years with Jones growing the business she started from her living room with just one online course to a leading global operation, providing over one thousand courses to 1.3 million customers in 150 countries.

Earlier this year the business launched a new app placing affordable and transformative learning in the palm of the hand.  It is just one of a series of recent developments from the eLearning company with Centre of Excellence having also released a range of new courses for children, expanded its portfolio of language courses and unveiled a new and bespoke website, attracting over two million visits per month.

Amongst the extensive range of products available are courses in holistic health and wellness, business, animal care, languages, mental health, hobbies & crafts, and child education.

The business has ambitious designs for continued expansion with plans for a new merchandise range and new membership model, alongside the introduction of over 100 new courses.

The Growing Business Awards were launched in 1998 to recognise the UK’s top growing businesses.  This year’s gala dinner was staged at the Hilton London Bankside.
