Nantwich Retirement Village Provides Essential Items for Local Foodbank With Shrove Tuesday Event

Residents at Richmond Villages Nantwich have helped to provide support for people in crisis in the town, by participating in a Shrove Tuesday fundraising event for a local charity.

The charitable event, where residents and staff exchanged food and other essential items in exchange for a delicious pancake, was a huge success, with the bank of donations going to the Nantwich foodbank.

This was just one of many events where the village has supported the Nantwich Foodbank, with harvest and Christmas donations also contributing over the last few years.

The village has also helped to provide essential food items to the foodbank during school holidays, when families who need it require even further support.

Jane Ann Stubbs, activities manager at Richmond Villages Nantwich, said, “Here at Richmond Villages Nantwich, everybody is passionate about supporting the foodbank because they understand the difficult times that people are facing.

“It’s heart warming to see our residents and staff working together to raise awareness and provide for those in our area who really need it.

“We have a fantastic spirit within the village and to have that qualified for such a great cause speaks volumes about the generosity amongst those here.

Jean White, resident at Richmond Villages Nantwich, said “It’s really important that we all do our best to help each other, that’s why I’m happy that we can support the foodbank.

“To be part of a worthwhile collective effort for such a great cause is very rewarding and this won’t be the last time that happens here.”

Nantwich Foodbank is a charity that helps local people in crisis, which last year provided over 36,000 meals to those in need in the area.
