Despite Hard Economic Times Nantwich Café Celebrates First Year In Business

Owners thank local community for its custom

Owners of the hole-in-the-wall style Venezuelan eatery, Guayoyo Café in Nantwich, are celebrating their first year in business. The husband and wife founders will mark the milestone with a week-long celebration and a fiesta for loyal customers.

The couple, who hail from Venezuela arrived in the UK in 2018 and began selling street food from their homeland, at the local Makers Market. Following the popularity of the traditional cuisine, including arepas and empanadas, they opened permanent premises 12 months ago and have not looked back since.

Their market stall to restaurant journey has taken some years but their success is the result of hard work, their passion for food and delivering excellent service so their customers keep coming back.

The café, which has welcomed diners from the local community as well as South Americans living across the Northwest, is regarded as a haven of hospitality, great food, fun and friendship.

“In this difficult economic time, we know how hard it can be for businesses. We are a small, family-run operation and totally understand that rising operational costs are challenging many businesses, so we are truly thankful for the loyalty of our customers. We want to thank everyone who has come to Guayoyo Café.” said Elio.

His wife Amarilis, who can be found in the kitchen cooking, dancing and singing said “the people of Nantwich have welcomed us into the town and we really feel part of the community. We  owe our business success to them. People enter as customers and leave as friends. Muchas gracias”.
