Manchester Hoteliers Association Raises More Than £40,000 for Chosen Charities

Over £40,000 has been raised by Manchester Hoteliers Association for chosen charities.

The Manchester Hoteliers Association (MHA) made up of some of Manchester’s key hotels has raised over £40,000 for their chosen charities at their recent annual dinner and awards evening.

MHA’s chosen charities include Hospitality Action, Mustard Tree, Wood Street Mission and MIND Manchester who all carry out vital work across the region.

A thank you evening was held on Wednesday 5th April at Hotel Indigo in Manchester City Centre to present the charities with a cheque and say a huge thank you to all event sponsors and partners.

Chair of Manchester Hoteliers Association, Adrian Ellis commented: “This year’s MHA Ball was a huge success and would like to say a massive thank you to all our sponsors and partners for making the event the biggest and best yet.

“We are also very pleased to have raised the largest amount of money yet for our chosen charities whose work across the region is extremely important, as well as celebrating the fantastic hospitality industry in Manchester. We look forward to doing it all over again next year!”

During the evening of celebration, Adrian Ellis presented cheques to Wood Street Mission, MIND Manchester, Hospitality Action and Mustard Tree on behalf of the MHA.

Des Lynch, CEO of Wood Street Mission commented: “We would like to say thank you to all those involved at MHA for supporting Wood Street Mission. This generous donation will help support our Smart Start (school uniform appeal).

At Wood Street mission we believe that the one true way of breaking the cycle of child poverty is through education. Through Smart Start we aim to provide as many children as we possibly can with new school uniform, enabling those children that we support, to access school, looking and feeling like their peers, simply fitting in! We believe that all children should be able to take a full part in education, by both looking and feeling that they belong!

So, thank you once again to MHA for supporting this project and for helping to improve the life chances of local children.”
Partners of this year’s Manchester Hoteliers Association Ball included The Caterer, Expedia, Manchester Metropolitan University, Matthew Clark, Mint, Polkadot, Springbank, The Vermilion and Vision Events with Headline Sponsor being UK Global.
The Manchester Hoteliers’ Association (MHA) is a non-profit organisation of the key hotels within the city centre and the Greater Manchester area. It is chaired and managed by the hotel General Managers and the MHA is dedicated to promoting and developing the hospitality and tourism industry in Manchester.
