Therapy For You, an NHS Talking Therapies service catering to patients in North East and South East Essex, is highlighting the availability of typed therapy through its partnership with ieso Online Therapy.https://www.therapyforyou.co.uk/ieso
Established in May 2017, the collaboration between Therapy For You and ieso Online Therapy has provided individuals across the county with access to much-needed support in a manner that is comfortable and convenient for them.
With a strong commitment to enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of therapy, Therapy For You saw its affiliation with ieso as an opportunity to expand its range of treatment options.
According to Richard Black, NHS Talking Therapies Digital Services Manager at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), “Our mission at Therapy For You has always been to improve accessibility to essential, effective mental health support.”
The partnership with ieso allows individuals to communicate one-on-one with qualified therapists through text using devices such as phones, tablets, and computers. This remote and accessible approach has been successful in reaching over 115,000 people since its inception in 2000.
Therapy For You’s treatments align well with ieso’s Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach, which focuses on changing thoughts and behaviors to enhance emotional well-being. Users can self-refer through the ieso website, where they are matched with a suitable therapist. Subsequent weekly typed therapy sessions typically last between 30 and 60 minutes, during which users and therapists collaborate on exercises and techniques.
The structure and application of CBT techniques within the ieso platform mirror Therapy For You’s approach. Users have the convenience of revisiting past conversations for up to 20 years, aiding in relapse prevention.
Therapists at ieso treat a range of common mental health symptoms, including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, phobias, sleep problems, social anxiety, and stress. Typed therapy has enabled many in North East and South East Essex to access support that they may have otherwise avoided due to barriers like travel or communication preferences.
The ieso platform offers unique advantages, including appointments available seven days a week from 6am to 11pm, secure and encrypted online chat, the ability to message questions to therapists between sessions, and access to a network of over 600 qualified therapists and psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWPs).
Therapy For You believes that ieso’s typed therapy has opened the door to treatment for numerous individuals. The platform’s flexibility and convenience align well with the organisation’s ethos, making it a pivotal part of their service.
