Nico Williams has committed his future to Athletic Bilbao by signing a three-year contract extension amid reported transfer interest from Liverpool.
Despite only turning 21 in July, Williams has already made 96 senior appearances for Athletic, nailing down a starting spot on the opposite flank to his 29-year-old brother Inaki.
The winger has impressed so far this season, recording six goal involvements (one goal, five assists) in 11 league games with Ernesto Valverde’s exciting side currently fifth in LaLiga.

Williams reportedly attracted interest from Aston Villa in January, and with his previous contract at San Mames due to expire at the end of this campaign, he had been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid.
However, the Spain international has now put pen to paper on a deal to run until June 2027, joining a number of other players in committing their futures to Athletic.

Spain team-mate Oihan Sancet signed an eight-year contract extension with the club in April, while brother Inaki penned a nine-year deal back in 2019 after being strongly linked with Manchester United.
Athletic are currently six points adrift of fourth-placed Barcelona in LaLiga after holding surprise package Girona to a 1-1 draw on Monday. They are back in action at home to Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
