Hundreds of cannabis plants have been seized and a man has been arrested after a cannabis farm was discovered in Widnes.
At around 7.25am on Tuesday, police executed a warrant at an address in Brookdale where 200 cannabis plants were discovered and seized.
Officers also discovered electricity was being abstracted as part of the set up.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a class B drug. He remains in police custody.
Chief inspector Daniel Haddock said: “This is a great result, with a significant quantity of cannabis removed from the streets of Widnes.
“The supply and use of illegal drugs has an incredibly negative impact on the community, and our fight against this type of behaviour is never over. We will continue to do all we can to put a stop to this activity.
“Residents are urged to report any suspicions of illegal drug-related activity to the police.”
