How To Sign Up for William Hill for Cheltenham

Signing up with William Hill couldn’t be easier, and you’ll be done and ready for Cheltenham in no time. However, doing this for the first time can be a little daunting, and no one wants to accidentally break the T&Cs and get locked out of their bonus. As such, we’ve put together this fool-proof guide to help you through the process and get you betting ASAP.

  1. Use our link to reach the William Hill sign-up page. This will automatically apply the T60 promo code to your account when you sign up. You can also enter this manually or do so during your first deposit, but we recommend doing it here to keep it simple.
  2. Click ‘Join Here’ and enter your details to create an account. You will need to submit sensitive information like your name, date of birth, and home address.
  3. Make your first deposit of at least £10 — remember to not make this deposit using one of the restricted payment methods.
  4. Stake at least £10 on odds of 1/2+ — make your qualifying wager of £10 using cash or your Vegas winnings (after meeting the wagering requirements).
  5. Once your qualifier has settled, claim your free bets and use them on the Cheltenham Festival — your free bets should be used at full value as anything left over when wagering will be forfeited.

Common T&Cs of Cheltenham Offers

All gambling promos come with a long list of terms and conditions you need to follow to successfully use them, and Cheltenham bonuses are no different. But reading through the T&Cs is notoriously boring, so to make it easier, we’ve outlined some of the most common betting offer T&Cs below and shown how they apply to the William Hill betting offer:

  • Wagering requirements — many gambling bonuses come with a playthrough, which is the number of times you have to wager the value of your bonus before you can withdraw any winnings made from it. The William Hill Vegas bonus has wagering requirements of 30x £20.
  • Time limit — if you leave your bonus sitting around for too long, it’ll expire, and you’ll lose it. The length of time you have to use a bonus will be listed in the T&Cs, and this will usually be from the time of receipt. The William Hill Cheltenham free bets will be available up to 7 days from claiming before they expire.
  • Accepted payment methods — when you make a deposit to claim a bonus, you’ll need to ensure you’re using an approved payment method. This is usually limited to debit cards and sometimes bank transfers in order to curb fraud and bonus exploitation.
  • Betting limits — free bets can’t always be used willy-nilly, and they can’t be claimed with just any wager, either. To claim the William Hill free bets, you need to make your qualifying bet at 1/2 odds or longer for it to count. Then, your free bets need to be placed at full value on any market that isn’t virtual.

Cheltenham Betting Options Available at William Hill

Horse racing events are very popular with bettors because so many races happen in a very short amount of time, and it opens up a huge range of betting options. Horse racing has many special types of combination bets associated with it that can cover as many as six or seven selections at once.

If you’re new to horse racing betting or just interested in what kinds of bets you might not know about, we’ve provided a list below of some of the popular bets you can place on Cheltenham in 2025 through William Hill:

Bet Description
Win The most simple type of bet wagering on a single runner to take first place.
Place A wager on a single runner to place within one of the top spots; the number of places that count depends on how many runners there are and the type of race.
Each-Way The combination of a win and a place bet on a single horse to cover multiple outcomes will double the stake.
Forecast Betting on the two racers to come in first and second in that specific order. When you place another forecast on top of it to count for the racers coming in either order, it’s called a reverse forecast and will double your stake.
Tricast A bet on the horses coming in first, second, and third in a specific order. Adding more bets to cover the other orders turns the bet into a ‘combination tricast,’ which can be formed in many different ways.
Double/Treble The simplest forms of multiple bets are doubles, which combine two selections and trebles, which combine three. To pay out, all selections in the bet must win.
Accumulator A complex multiple with four selections or more will not pay out unless all selections win.
Trixie/Patent A small type of combination bet covering three selections. A trixie is made up of four bets, three doubles and a treble. A patent is the same but adds three singles, one for each selection. These bets can still pay out even if only some of the selections win.
Yankee/Canadian Yankees are a popular combination bet covering four selections across 11 bets: six doubles, four trebles and an accumulator. It will start paying out as long as two selections or more win. When you add a fifth selection to the combination, it’s upgraded into a Canadian (also called a Super Yankee).
Lucky 15/31/63 A lucky 15 is a popular combination that covers four selections across 15 bets: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and an accumulator. When you add a fifth or sixth selection to the combination, you’ll get a lucky 31 or 63, respectively. These bets can start to see returns even when only one selection wins.
Heinz It is one of the largest combination bets available, covering six selections across 57 total bets. A Heinz can start to pay out when just two or more of the six selections win.

How To Make the Most of Your Cheltenham Experience

With so much to do throughout the Cheltenham Festival, it’s not hard to wind up unsure of where to start or how to get the most out of your betting funds. To help you out, here are our tips for ensuring you have the best time during Cheltenham!

Utilise Responsible Gambling Tools

Betting can be a lot of fun, but it can also lead to a lot of heartbreak. So, amidst all the excitement of Cheltenham, ensure that you’re making full use of any responsible gambling tools available to you. These could be deposit limits, timeouts or simple reality checks. Have a good time, but do what you can to make sure this is a festival you remember for the right reasons.

Look For Cheltenham Offers

Cheltenham is one of the best times of year to find exciting betting offers, so it would be an utter waste to jump into the festival without taking the time to find something to enhance your experience. William Hill is already offering some fantastic insurance and free betting deals to improve your experience, but most UK sportsbooks will have excellent options up for grabs, so we recommend shopping around.

Learn as Much as You Can

As a general rule, you should always make sure your betting decisions are well-informed, which is why it’s worth your time to do your research and seek out expert opinions before making your Cheltenham bets. Everyone has a different opinion on what’s going to happen, but articles that explain the minutiae of racing culture and give reasons for statements will wind up helping you in the long run — and chances are you’ll learn something valuable for future use. So check out tipster and sports news websites for more information.

Responsible Gambling

While Cheltenham is an exciting time of year for horse racing fans, that just makes it all the easier to get carried away and bet too much during the festival. So, while you’re having fun, it’s always important to remember to employ responsible gambling measures to keep your Cheltenham experience fun and rewarding instead of letting it turn into a major regret.

At William Hill, you can find many responsible gambling tools available to help manage your bankroll and keep track of your behaviour. Here’s a closer look at the tools available to William Hill customers:

  • Deposit Limit — For those who need help sticking to a budget, the deposit limit will create a hard limit on the amount you can put into your account over a day, a week and a month.
  • Session Time Reminders—This will send you a reminder of how long you’ve been on the website and prompt you to take a break or step away entirely.
  • Self-Exclusion — If you need a long-term solution to a gambling habit, you can opt into self-exclusion to lock your account and cut off advertising for a long period of time. Self-exclusion starts at a minimum of six months and has a maximum of five years.
  • Time Out — When you just need a short break, time outs can close your account for a few days up to a few weeks, and they will also cut off advertising.
  • Helplines — William Hill also provides numbers, links, and emails on gambling addiction lines when you need expert advice.
